What does an upholsterer do?<\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Upholsterers are above all craftspeople who have followed specialized training in the design, layout, manufacture and installation of different types of decoration (drapes, sheers, furniture repair, carpets, blinds for yachts, etc.) They master the skill of fitting wall hangings, fabrics and furniture trimmings and are able to assess the feasibility and cost of carrying out a project. They offer assistance to clients with advice on their decoration project. The upholsterer collaborates with interior architects, designers, and cabinetmakers for large-scale projects. To meet these challenges, they must have a solid knowledge of traditional and contemporary upholstery, as well as woodwork, the history of textiles and drawing. They must also be able to work with different materials (wool, silk, cotton, etc.).
